FlightFabric 0.12.5 adds a short setup introduction and a recording indicator that tells you a bit more than “recording”. There are also new A350 and MD-11 controls, plus changes to startup and PMDG command messages.
FlightFabric is in public alpha. Aircraft integrations are still being tested. Check the observed result in the cockpit and read the support and testing notes for your aircraft.

Setup once, not after every update
The three-step introduction takes you through the main features and optional voice control, phone access, flight recording and the MSFS toolbar.
You’ll see it if you’re new to FlightFabric or haven’t been through it before. Existing preferences are loaded first. Finish it once and normal app updates won’t make you do it all again.
To revisit it, go to Settings > General > Introduction and choose Show intro again. You can still change individual options in Settings.
Is it loading, or has it stopped?
There’s now a loading indicator while saved preferences load. FlightFabric also gives automatic reconnection a little more time before showing Reconnect, so a short delay is less likely to look like something has gone wrong. Loading aircraft data uses less memory too.
What’s being recorded?
The recording indicator now shows how much data has been written for the current flight. Open it to see where the recording is saved, go to Logbook or the debrief, or end the flight manually.
A350, MD-11 and PMDG controls
The iniBuilds A350 now has UP/1/2/3/FULL flap selection and landing-autobrake arm/disarm commands. The TFDi MD-11 gets more flap, spoiler, autobrake and flight-guidance commands. You’ll find the supported ones in Control library and the voice catalogue.
For the PMDG 777, flap and spoiler messages now tell you whether a command couldn’t be sent or was sent without a confirmed response. Check what the aircraft actually did before sending it again.
Aircraft testing notes
- The new A350 surface controls have ground checks on the -1000. The -900, airborne operation and actual automatic braking remain unverified.
- The new MD-11 surface controls have limited ground checks on the PW4462. The added flight-guidance buttons still need live verification.
- Reported PMDG heading/approach commands that do not respond are still under investigation.
There’s more testing to do; these additions don’t mean every variant is fully supported. The release notes list the other known limitations.
How to update
Finish your flight before updating.
- Using FlightFabric 0.12.2 or newer: open Settings > About to check for updates, download the update, then choose Restart and update.
- Updating manually, or using 0.12.1 or earlier: choose Quit FlightFabric from the system tray, then run the Windows installer. Your settings and recordings stay in their current locations.
- Using the MSFS toolbar panel: close MSFS, open Settings > MSFS 2024 toolbar panel, choose Update or Reinstall, then restart the simulator.
The current alpha installer is unsigned, so Windows may show an Unknown publisher warning. Download from the official link above and see the installation help in the release notes. Do not disable Windows security protections to install the app.
Thanks to everyone testing FlightFabric and helping me improve it.
