FlightFabric 0.9.6 makes it easier to see which parts of your approach were included in the score. It also improves touchdown zone scoring for the first 3,000 ft of the runway and marks uncertain runway measurements as Unverified. These changes aim to make flight debriefs more useful and reduce false warnings.
If you’re new to FlightFabric, it’s a flight simulation companion app that records your flights, allowing you to review your flight timeline, approach profile and landing performance afterwards.

See the final approach more clearly
The side-on approach profile and ground track now show a little extra space above the stability gate, making it easier to see the final approach. A label indicates where scoring begins.
To see the earlier descent and turn onto final, select Show full approach context. This additional section is for reference only and doesn’t affect your score.
Warning colours represent events assessed within the scoring window, while the dashed 3° line provides a visual reference for the approach path.
Updated touchdown and airspeed scoring
In 0.9.6, touching down from the threshold through to 3,000 ft earns full touchdown zone (TDZ) credit, as long as it’s before the runway end. Weather no longer shortens that zone, and missing weather information stays unknown. Landing short or beyond the runway end still produces a warning.
The app compares approach airspeed with the selected speed recorded at the gate when it has reliable target data and active autothrottle. Without those, it leaves that criterion unscored. The selected speed isn’t a verified VAPP or Vref. A high score therefore doesn’t tell you that every criterion was measured.
Fewer false runway and stall warnings
For live MSFS flights, FlightFabric asks the MSFS Facilities API first for runway geometry. If suitable simulator data isn’t available, it falls back to the OurAirports database.
In 0.9.6, runway alignment and edge measurements that rely on fallback database information are marked Unverified and excluded from scoring.
Reliable simulator measurements can still be used, but conflicting readings are also marked Unverified.
A runway excursion warning is only triggered when there’s sustained evidence that the aircraft left the runway at high speed and moved onto unpaved ground or water.
A momentary stall warning pulse from the simulator no longer becomes a stall event. The warning must continue for at least one second while airborne.
Update and review an older flight
- Close FlightFabric, download the latest Windows installer and follow the setup steps.
- Launch FlightFabric and open the timeline of a recorded flight.
- Choose Review scoring, check the updated results, then select Save all current scoring to keep them.
FlightFabric remains a public alpha, with ongoing development and incomplete aircraft support. The Windows installer is unsigned, so Windows may show an Unknown publisher message. Use the official download link below.
