The aircraft is connected, the readings are updating, but the control you want is still greyed out. FlightFabric 0.9.5 fixes that problem for takeoff-light presets and supported autopilot inputs.

Takeoff lights after a refresh or reconnection
Refreshing the page, reconnecting or returning to FlightFabric could leave Set takeoff lights disabled. That’s fixed in 0.9.5.
If the connected aircraft supports the preset, you can apply it with a click. With voice control enabled in the Windows app, you can also say “set takeoff lights”.
Autopilot inputs that stay available
The same sort of problem could leave supported autopilot inputs greyed out while heading and altitude readings carried on updating. This update lets you use those controls again when you return to the app.
This covers PMDG 737 and 777, plus supported controls in Fenix, FlyByWire, iniBuilds, Microsoft 737 MAX 8 and Headwind aircraft. What you can control still varies by aircraft.
Aircraft support
The available controls depend on the aircraft, and live simulator testing is still incomplete.
