FlightFabric 0.13.2: Improved Voice Recognition

FlightFabric 0.13.2 is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with more reliable voice commands, improved cockpit lighting controls and simpler setup.

What’s changed

  • More reliable voice recognition. Altitude and lighting commands are better recognised, including the phrase “engage approach”. Push-to-talk also gives the end of your command a little more time after you release the button.
  • Shorter commands. Try “altitude thirteen thousand” without saying “set”. You can also say “turnoff lights on” or “runway lights off”.
  • Improved cockpit lighting controls. Separate controls for panel backlighting, flood/task lights and display brightness make it easier to adjust supported Airbus aircraft. Combined cockpit lighting remains available.
  • Simpler setup. Settings has less text, and clearer phone pairing prompts make connecting a phone or tablet easier.

Voice commands use your desktop microphone. Phones and tablets can still provide cockpit controls through their browser.

How to update

Finish your flight, then check Settings → About for the update. Or choose Quit FlightFabric from the system tray and run the Windows installer. Your settings and recordings stay in place. If you’re on 0.12.1 or earlier, use the installer.

If you use the MSFS toolbar panel, close MSFS, open Settings → Devices → MSFS 2024 toolbar panel, choose Update or Reinstall, then restart the simulator.

FlightFabric remains a public alpha. See the full release notes for installation help and current limitations.

Thank you to everyone helping improve FlightFabric through feedback, testing and support.
